On September 10, Su Cheng, Director of the Industrial Cooperation Office in the Greater Bay Area under the Management Committee of Wuhan Donghu High-tech Development Zone (also known as "Optics Valley"), along with staff member Wan Qian, visited Shenzhen Cell Valley for exchange and discussion. Our Chief Scientist, Professor Wang Jianxun; Head of Marketing, Sun Rui; and Director of the General Administration Office, Wang Lu, extended a warm welcome to the delegation.

Under the introduction of Director Wang Lu, Director Su and his delegation gained an initial understanding of Shenzhen Cell Valley's strategic layout, founding team, development history, corporate honors, core technologies, and team structure. They also developed a further appreciation of Shenzhen Cell Valley's one-stop, full-process services spanning from basic research to clinical translation.

During the symposium, Professor Wang Jianxun noted that Shenzhen Cell Valley's core technology team has successfully utilized self-produced industrial-grade retroviral vectors to prepare CAR-T cell products targeting over 50 targets. These products have demonstrated excellent safety and efficacy in clinical research at multiple domestic medical institutions. In addition, Shenzhen Cell Valley has successfully established multiple subsidiaries in Beijing, the Greater Bay Area, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and has set up cell preparation centers in Yunnan and Henan. Looking ahead, the company's strategic development plan will cover markets from Southeast Asia to broader international regions, committed to providing high-quality, affordable cell therapy products, and truly realizing the corporate vision of "Cells benefit all, genes create the future."

Director Su introduced that the total area of the Optics Valley region has expanded to 518 square kilometers. In terms of human resources, the region is home to numerous institutions of higher learning; it also hosts 71 national-level research institutes, including the Wuhan Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In addition, Optics Valley has established eight specialized industrial parks, among which the Optics Valley Biocity has grown into the most influential, innovative, and comprehensive industrial cluster in the central region's biopharmaceutical sector. This industrial cluster has played an active role in radiating and driving the coordinated development of the province's "1+9" regional bio-industrial parks, and has become a key driver of high-quality regional economic development. The purpose of this visit was to conduct on-site research and engage in more in-depth communication with Shenzhen Cell Valley, with the expectation of promoting further development in the cell therapy field between Central China and the Greater Bay Area.

This visit enhanced mutual understanding between the two parties. Both sides expressed the hope to engage in broader cooperation in the future, jointly promoting the development of the cell therapy industry in Central China, the Greater Bay Area, and across China.

About Wuhan Donghu High-tech Development Zone

Wuhan Donghu High-tech Development Zone, abbreviated as Donghu High-tech Zone and also known as "China Optics Valley" or simply "Optics Valley," was established in 1988.
